The current Indoor Pool Project Committee consists of :
Roger Hintz, Graeme McKenzie, Jane Thomas, Richard Klaus, Mark Boyle, John Atutahi and Bruce Lendrem. As can be seen this committee is our Elected Board of Trustees. Plus three community members: Anne Benseman, Linda Ross, Geoff Oliver. From this hard working group we will form a “Management Committee” for the completed pool. The intention is to create a combined community and School committee with a view to a collaborative and effective management of our new community indoor pool. Part of the committees work will be to identify potential groups in the community who will use the pool and to have them sign a “Community Share Agreement.” One obvious group would be the school, another a swimming club or two, a third may be Eastern Districts Rugby Club, or Paengaroa Athletics club. And so on.
If anyone in the district is interested in assisting with fundraising, design ideas, engineering work, etc please contact Bruce Lendrem Ph 5331227 at school, or Roger Hintz Ph 5736893.

Invitation to Buy a Brick
This means that you can make a donation towards this project by buying one or more bricks at $25.00 each. To date we have had a number of parents and ex- Paengaroa families donate more than $ 5000.00 in donations. This is fantastic. We have also received donations of up to $1000.00 from individual families. There is no limit.
Once the Pool is completed the pupils of the school will create a permanent ceramic mural like the ones around our school, with the names of all the families and individuals who donated money to the project. The ceramic mural will be an awesome tribute to our communities generosity. |
